A Legal Literacy Camp 2026 was successfully organized on 27 February 2026 at Village Buranakhedi, Kanadiya Road, Indore, under the joint aegis of the School of Legal Studies, LNCT Vidhyapeeth University, Indore, and the District Legal Services Authority, Indore.
Villagers actively participated in the camp and were made aware of their legal rights, fundamental duties, important constitutional provisions, government welfare schemes, and the arrangements for free legal aid. The initiative proved highly effective, as many villagers—who had long hesitated to share their domestic and personal grievances due to social and familial pressures—came forward and openly discussed their concerns with the legal aid team.
The program was led by Professor (Dr.) Prabal Pratap Singh, Dean/Director, School of Legal Studies. He addressed the gathering and encouraged the villagers to speak fearlessly and seek legal remedies.
Faculty members of the School of Legal Studies—Dr. Mamta Saxena (Assistant Professor), Ms. Sonakshi Singh (Assistant Professor), and Mr. Mayank Jagawanshi (Assistant Professor)—actively guided the student volunteers during the camp.
Students of the School of Legal Studies also participated enthusiastically and spread legal awareness among the villagers. Law students Anuj Gangwal, Muskan Sheikh, and Bhawna Fatkure addressed the people of Buranakhedi.
The program was also attended by Mr. Aslam Pathan, Sarpanch of Buranakhedi; Mr. Ankit Chaudhary, Deputy Sarpanch; and Mr. Sanjay Joshi, Secretary of the village. At the conclusion of the program, Mr. Ankit Chaudhary delivered the vote of thanks.
Students also assisted on the spot in resolving preliminary domestic issues and in helping villagers understand the process of filing various complaints.
The camp concluded in a positive and encouraging atmosphere and proved to be a significant success for the School of Legal Studies. The institution reaffirmed its commitment to organizing similar community outreach programs in the near future to empower rural communities through legal awareness.
