Lakshmi Narain College of Technology (LNCT) is widely recognized as synonymous with excellence in technical education, having shaped the lives of thousands of students. In fact, LNCT is the trendsetter by virtue of being the first ever private college of technology in the Hindi belt. Set up in 1994, the institution continues to set trends in the various branches of technical education including engineering and medical. Having started off with merely 180 seats it has now 1140 seats. The total number of seats in all the colleges of the group exceeds 6000.
The young and energetic Secretary of the LNCT Group of Colleges, Dr. Anupam Chouksey is efficiently and passionately furthering the legacy of his father Shri J.N. Chouksey, the Chairman of the LNCT Group of Colleges and Chancellor of LNCT University, belying the age old adage that great men’s sons seldom do well. Bubbling with energy and fired with a passion to lead the group to new heights he plans to make LNCT a deemed university.” At present”, he said,” the LNCT College is affiliated to Rajiv Gandhi Praudyogiki Vishwvidhyalaya (RGPV) and Barkatullah University, Bhopal. We want to keep up with global trends, but not being a deemed university holds us back. On becoming a deemed university we will have greater freedom”, he added. He also plans to expand the group at international level. “We have already inked a MoU with Tirkistan Government to set up a medical university there”, he revealed with a sense of pride.
[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]When asked about the problems the group faced in reaching this enviable level, he said, “Of course, my father had his share of teething problems, but with his passion, hard work and vision he cleared all the hurdles and made the group pioneer in the field of technical education. When asked what sets his group apart from others, he quipped, “We never hesitated in taking bold steps. We were the first to introduce dress code for the students. Our opponents criticized it saying that we were pushing the students back to their school days. But we stood our ground and now all the colleges have introduced dress code. Similarly, we made it compulsory for the students to use college bus. Now all the technical colleges are doing so”, he said.
Dr. Anupam feels proud that the academics and staff associated with the institution since its inception never even thought of switch to other institutions despite lucrative offers. “This shows the intimate relationship between the management and the staff”, he said.
His wife Shweta Chouksey, an engineering postgraduate, works shoulder to shoulder with him as a Director of the group. Happily married they couple have twins -Anand and Jayant who are in primary school. Dr. Anupam said now his father was not much involved in the day to day affairs of the college and the group. In fact, he has political ambitions and actively pursues politics.
Dr. Anupam is a voracious reader with special taste for fictions. He also loves travelling to different countries, particularly south-eastern countries.
Under his dynamic and visionary leadership the LNCT Group of Colleges is going from strength to strength. Presently the group runs 11 engineering colleges and a medical university. He said, “Quality of education and services in the medical university and the hospital affiliated to it are taken special care of. We have full faith in the facilities and services there and in case of any medical issues in the family we prefer treatment in our own hospital. We have full trust in our doctors and staff.”
It may be mentioned here that LNCT is the only private institution in Madhya Pradesh with NIRF, MHRD ranking. It has a very excellent placement record in Central India. The colleges of the group possess world-class infrastructure and satellite enabled classrooms conforming to global standards. The campus has a congenial ambience for learning. Interactive exchanges are held for widening the horizon of students. Established in 2007 the LNCT University, Bhopal is playing a pioneering role in transforming the educational scenario in Madhya Pradesh. It has 22 institutions affiliated to it.
