On August 12, 2024, the School of Pharmacy at LNCT University, Bhopal, organized an expert lecture on the crucial topic of “Pharmacovigilance: Need of the Hour.” The lecture was delivered by Dr. Vipin Dhote, Principal and Professor of Pharmacology at the Faculty of Pharmacy, VNS Group of Institutions, Bhopal.

The event began with a warm welcome speech by Dr. Akhlesh K. Singhai, Director of the School of Pharmacy and Dean of Academics at LNCT University.

Dr. Vipin Dhote provided an insightful introduction to pharmacovigilance, emphasizing the importance of non-clinical safety testing. He further elaborated on Adverse Drug Reactions, the mandate for pharmacovigilance, and the operational flow of the Pharmacovigilance Programme of India (PVPI). In addition, Dr. Dhote discussed the various career opportunities in the pharmacovigilance sector, highlighting companies that are actively hiring in this emerging field.

The lecture was highly informative for students, introducing them to pharmacovigilance as a burgeoning area in the field of pharmacy. Faculty members and non-teaching staff also attended, gaining valuable insights into this critical aspect of healthcare.
