The Department of General Surgery, JK Hospital & LN Medical College, Bhopal, successfully celebrated International Surgeon Week 2026 from 9th June to 15th June 2026 with a series of academic, skill-based, social, and community-oriented activities aimed at promoting surgical excellence, teamwork, and public health awareness.
The week commenced on 9th June 2026 with a Plantation Drive, emphasizing environmental responsibility and sustainability among healthcare professionals
On 10th June 2026, a Surgery Quiz Competition was organized, fostering academic enthusiasm and encouraging surgical knowledge among undergraduate and postgraduate students.
The highlight of 11th June 2026 was a Laparoscopic Training and Hands-on Workshop, providing participants with valuable exposure to modern minimally invasive surgical techniques.
On 12th June 2026, a Continuing Medical Education (CME) Program on Acute Abdomen was conducted, featuring expert lectures and discussions on the latest diagnostic and management strategies. The event also included a cultural skit performance by students and residents.
The academic momentum continued on 13th June 2026 with a Suture Skill Workshop, where students and trainees enhanced their practical surgical skills under expert guidance.
A Walkathon was organized on 14th June 2026 to promote fitness, health awareness, and community engagement.
The celebrations concluded on 15th June 2026 with a Blood Donation Camp and an informative Seminar on Modern Advances in Hemorrhoid Surgery, highlighting contemporary innovations and evidence-based approaches in colorectal surgery.
Throughout the week, faculty members, postgraduate residents, interns, undergraduate students, nursing staff, and healthcare workers actively participated in the events. The celebrations reflected the department’s commitment to academic excellence, surgical innovation, community service, and holistic professional development.
