On the Occasion of Children Day, Kalakunj Foundation in association with CII, Young Indians(Yi) and Masoom organized one week awareness program on Children Rights from 14th Nov to 20th Nov. 2021. Duing this week major activities were conducted to spread awareness on Children Rights as mentioned below:
Day 1: Commencement of Child Rights week/Children’s Day Celebration
The day Started with celebrating Children’s day with around 50 students in Kekadiya Village. Students were educated about child rights and child sexual abuse also poster making competition was organised and prize distribution was done at the end.
Day 2: Essay writing competition
On 15th of November essay writing competition was organised via online mode at various schools and colleges. Good number of promising entries were received from various Institutions on the following topics such as child rights, future of children, child sexual abuse, Cyber bullying in the Covid era etc. Price distribution to be held later.
Day 3: Rural visit
5 rural visits were made in Berasia and Kolar region by Yi team in association with kala kunj foundation. We connected with around 150 students and educated them about Child rights and Child sexual abuse. We organised interactive sessions , poster making competition and stickering in the nearby area with the kids. A small price distribution was also done at the end of the programs. We were also accompanied by Asha workers of the respective areas.
Day 4: School Seminar
School seminars were conducted in five government schools in which around 300 students participated in poster making competition and interactive sessions Followed by a Q&A session in which students shared about the challenges they are facing in online mode of learning.
Day 5-
Continuing with the child’s right week., Young Indians in association with kalakunj foundation organised Nukkad Natak at DB City Mall Bhopal. Students of pharmacy LNCT University and Team Inqalaab from IEHE performed act portraying child rights and child sexual abuse.
Day 6-
Rural visit was Done by the members of young Indians and Kalakunj foundation in the morning. We also organised the stickering campaign in various areas of Bhopal and in greater Bhopal where posters related to child sexual abuse awareness were distributed as well as pasted in prominent public areas.
